Responsibilities
- Assigned transactional and ad-hoc activities are complete, appropriately timely, accurately executed, and related documentation assembled, filed and retained in accordance with Littler Policies and relevant external requirements and regulations. Assignments may include, but are not limited to exempt, non-exempt and other payroll administration, employee set-up and maintenance, onboarding and termination payments and related calculations, time administration and entry, bonus and other non-recurring payments, incentive/holdback administration, statutory, benefit and other deduction administrations and validation, payroll tax matters, month end and other periodic reconciliation, analysis and reporting, and other activities in response to current and future business needs.
- Only approved payments to employees for valid time (or other unit of measurement) worked are paid via the appropriate method, with all deductions and taxes appropriately withheld and after all internal controls have been completed.
- Department policies and procedures are consistently complied with.
- Inquiries from Shareholders, other employees, vendors and other third parties are addressed in a timely matter and appropriately resolved.
- Oral and written communications are effective, professional and appropriate to the circumstance.
- Collaboration and communication between Payroll team members, accounting & finance group departments, and other corporate / firm departments is appropriate in the circumstance and effective.
- Team members are motivated, seek ongoing performance feedback, training and professional development opportunity. Firm Employee policies and procedures are followed and enforced.
- Personal improvement, growth and development objectives are set, actioned and evaluated annually.
- Perform such other/additional duties as may from time to time be assigned.
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll practices and policies sufficient to execute payroll transactions, validate timesheets, PTO and other absence requests, process statutory, benefit and other deductions and withholdings, record and validate employee and other master data, research and respond to inquiries and questions and complete account reconciliation, periodic and ad-hoc reports.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, sufficient to complete basic account analysis and reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to leverage Microsoft Word and Outlook to communicate effectively and create and edit documents. Demonstrated ability to execute transactions, and extract and analyze data from UKG (Ulimate Kronos Group).
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in financial and accounting matters. Demonstrated ability to effectively raise issues and consult with department manager to resolve issues and ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to execute multiple tasks and high workload volume without material impact on error rates or client service. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new processes, steps, policies and technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate process steps and draw comparisons between processes and measures of output such as productivity, efficiency and quality.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in person and via e-mail and telephone with internal and external clients and vendors, receive instructions and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
- Demonstrated ability to execute tasks efficiency and effectively within expected timeframes.
