We are looking for a passionate and motivated Youth & Family Direct Support Specialist (Behavior Coach) to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Job Summary: The Youth & Family Direct Support Specialist (Behavior Coach) will work directly with children and families, providing individualized support to help achieve positive behavioral changes. This role involves developing and implementing personalized strategies for behavior support, working collaboratively with the Child and Family Team (CFT), and empowering families with the tools they need for sustained positive growth. The ideal candidate will have experience working with at-risk youth, be comfortable working in diverse environments, and possess an understanding of the Arizona 12 Principles model. This position requires a commitment to accommodating the unique cultural, social, and scheduling needs of each family.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide continual in-home and community-based direct services for at-risk youth and families, accommodating family schedules, needs, and cultural context.
  • Develop and implement individualized behavioral support plans based on goals set by the Child and Family Team (CFT).
  • Provide a minimum of 20 of direct support to enrolled families per week, including a variety of services such as crisis intervention, life skills coaching, life skill groups, respite services, case management, coordination of care, behavior management, and family support.
  • Assist children and families in identifying strengths, needs, and accessing supports within the community.
  • Teach and support the development of essential skills (living, social, self-care, household management, etc.) for children, adolescents, parents, and caregivers through positive behavioral support approaches.
  • Facilitate connections to community resources to build social and natural support networks for families.
  • Participate in CFT meetings, providing feedback on service delivery and collaborating with other service providers to track progress and adjust behavioral plans as needed.
  • Provide transportation to children and families for activities as outlined by their service plan.
  • Complete all required documentation, including progress notes, case management reports, and updates, in a timely and accurate manner, using electronic medical records (EMR) as needed.
  • Communicate updates, progress, or barriers to supervisors during daily practices.
  • Attend agency meetings, trainings, and supervisions as required to support professional growth and service quality.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, and weekend shifts, as required, to accommodate family needs.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of experience working with children with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Associate's Degree with 2 years of experience working with children with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a behavioral health-related field (e.g., Psychology, Family Studies, Human Development, Sociology) with 1 year or more of experience working with children with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Previous experience as a Behavior Coach or Youth & Family Support Specialist is highly preferred.
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Prerequisites:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a valid Arizona driver's license and state-mandated auto insurance.
  • Ability to obtain or possess a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must be able to pass a 5-panel drug screen.
  • Reliable personal transportation and current auto liability insurance.
  • First Aid/CPR certification and an up-to-date TB test are required.
  • Must have a clean 39-month driving record.

Other Information:

  • Schedule: Must be flexible for a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts to accommodate family schedules.
  • Compensation: $18 - $22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
