What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook (Corrections) position at Livingston County?
The work involves responsibility for the preparation and cooking of a variety of food. The Cook (Corrections) is responsible for ordering food, inventory and distribution of related items. Supervision is exercised over the inmates assigned to kitchen duties. General supervision is received from the Sheriff or his designee. A Cook (Corrections) does related work as assigned.Food preparation for inmates;
Collects data for Government Federal Food Orders and NYS Education Department;
Oversees Breakfast and Lunch Programs;
Supervises inmates assigned as trustees to work in the kitchen and or dining area;
Supervises weekend inmates assigned to work in the kitchen and dining area; and
Performs other related duties as assigned.Applicants must meet all requirements for one of the following qualification options in order to be approved for appointment:
