Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise and mentor a team of welders, fabricators, and shop personnel.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to discuss specifications and address issues.
- Plan, schedule, and assign work based on project requirements and employee skill levels to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and shop drawings.
- Inspect work for adherence to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
- Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Train and mentor staff to enhance skills and promote professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years in welding/fabrication, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick) and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Proven track record of managing and motivating a diverse team.
