Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of related experience
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
- Experience using Skyward School Management software preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Manage accurate data SIS entry department for the District to meet local, state, and federal policies and mandates.
- Supervise the transcription process by training all District registrars and data clerks and coherently provides feedback and support consistently throughout the year to campuses.
- Communicate final decisions to campuses on student records when questions arise regarding compliance and transcription.
- Oversee the district-wide transcription process of student records from entry to exit and makes decisions in a timely manner to ensure students enter appropriate courses and grade levels.
- Respond to requests for District-archived transcripts, report cards, history of school attendance, etc. at the district level.
- Develop training models and train campus-based registrars and clerk
- Create, maintain, and provide recommendations for a Registrar’s/Records Office Procedure Manual.
- Act as the primary contact for all set up and programmatic issues regarding TREx.
- Utilize the TEASE/TEA TSDS System to verify student data.
- Assist in transferring records between campuses and Texas Public Schools, when needed
- Collaborate with campus staff to ensure the maintenance of student records
- Implement and maintain electronic filing of student records through relevant software.
- Research and implement federal and state laws, regulations, Texas Education Agency and District policies and guidelines and procedures as applicable to relevant district entities.
- Lead in coordinating various registration efforts, assist with special projects, programs, and events with various department stakeholders
- Represent the District at selected registrar conferences, counseling clerk conferences, and meetings as directed.
- Summarize and/or verify data for compliance reporting.
- Provide input to various manuals and training publications within the area of responsibility.
- Maintain on-going communication between campus and Learning and Compliance Support Services.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
