Description
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Barback/Busser to join our team. This position plays a key role in ensuring a smooth, enjoyable experience for our guests by supporting our bartenders and servers, keeping our bar area stocked, clean, and organized. To be considered for this role, you should be legally authorized to work in a bar where alcoholic beverages are served and consumed. You should also be available to work in shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays (Blackout Dates for no time off requests may include, but are not limited to: St. Patrick's Day weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, New Years Eve)
Responsibilities
- Support bartenders/servers by keeping the bar stocked with glassware, ice, mixers, garnishes, and other essential items.
- Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently to ensure a smooth customer flow.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep bar and service areas clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning spills, and disposing of trash. Ensure all glassware and utensils are washed, sanitized, and readily available.
- Restock Supplies: Regularly restock supplies, including glassware, plates, utensils, napkins, and drink ingredients, to ensure timely service during busy shifts.
- Provide a positive, welcoming environment by assisting guests with questions, refilling water glasses, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Support Team Members: Work as part of a team to deliver exceptional service to guests, especially during peak hours. Collaborate with staff to ensure an efficient flow of operations.
- Uphold Health and Safety Standards: Follow all health, safety, and hygiene standards and protocols to maintain a clean, safe environment for both guests and staff.
Requirements
- Greet all patrons, staff, neighbors, etc. Make everyone feel welcome; create and maintain a safe and healthy atmosphere
- Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of a second language is a plus
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
- Relevant training certificates (BASSET, Food Handlers)
- Follow the LMG, EE* Code of Conduct
- Minimum age to serve alcohol
- Interest in the hospitality industry; previous entry-level experience in a bar or restaurant is not mandatory, but will be considered a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit
- Basic knowledge of bar menu items and recipes (different types of beers and mixed drinks)
- Physical ability to lift beer kegs, hold trays of bottles and glassware and stand during the shift
- Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends and public holidays
- High school diploma; additional certification in mixology or hospitality is a plus
