Position: Material Handler 1
Position Type: Hourly
Position Description:
This position is responsible to ensure all the day-to-day production requirements.
To perform this job successfully, the selected individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the job responsibilities listed below. Additional details listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or or ability required to perform the job.
Set up materials need to produce product

- Refer to the BOM for blend information
- Insure correct blend percentage
- Utilize MFP and regrinds whenever possible
- Set up auxiliary equipment needed to produce product
- Maguire
- Dryer
- Insure Maguire is mixing the correct amount of each material being blended
- Insure the correct colorant and additive hoppers are being used
- Check proper LDR and insure the mixer is blending the correct amount of each material
- Insure Dryers are set up correctly
- Verify correct drying temperature
- Make sure water is connected to the dryer
- Insure dryer log is present and filled out at the time the dryer was started
- Make sure the dryer is filling correctly
- Make sure all materials are properly marked and removed from the press after cleaning out a Maguire and/ or dryer.
- Any material left sitting around a press and or found around the plant needs to be addressed by the utility.
- Insuring equipment is kept in good working order. Anything found that is not working properly needs to be brought to maintenances attention.
- Insure One-Shot`s are cleaned and in good working order
- One-Shots need to be disassembled and cleaned
- Clean filters, take outside to blow them out
- Replace any items that have been damaged, show signs of wear, check for holes in the material lines.
- Insure the Maguire Mixers are cleaned and in good working order
- Clean each uni-dyn can, blow out the filters
- Check each can to insure the vacuum valves are working properly
- Check to insure that the flaps on the cans are working properly
- Check the seal on the vacuum plunger, check the seal on the filter, check the seal around the flapper
- Insure the Natural and regrind hoppers are thoroughly blown out and cleaned
- Check for any “Angle” hair that could be stuck in the slides
- Remove the colorant and additive hopper for cleaning
- Blow hoppers out
- Remove the cylinder cover to insure no material is trapped in between the cylinder and the cover
- Beginning of Run
- Set up work stations
- Move tables into place
- Set up water tanks when needed
- Set up any secondary fixtures are equipment
- Make sure work area is organized and set up correctly
- End of Run
- Remove any tables from the cell
- Remove, empty and clean out water tanks
- Remove and relocate any secondary fixtures or equipment
- Make sure any parts left in work area and in or under press are cleaned up
- Remove purge piles from machine deck and/or working area
- Insure scrap gaylord is labeled correctly

- Clean out the weight bin/ mixing chamber
- Remove the weight bin and mixing auger
- Remove the stainless slide catch and Teflon spacer
- Blow chamber out and make sure the area above the load cell is cleaned
- Reassemble the chamber
- Blow out the catch bin under the mixing chamber
- Open the bottom latch, make sure there is a tub located under the bin to catch any materials
- Check for any “Angle” hair that could be stuck in the slide
- Clean out the weight bin/ mixing chamber
- Insure dyer is clean before using, all dryers should be cleaned at the end of each use
