We are a fine Jamaican dining restaurant, located in Manchester, CT.
We are looking for 2 professional Prep Chef/ Dishwashers that can expertly prepare vegetables, foods, and clean dishes according to our standards of excellence.
We are looking for kitchen staff that are professional, talented, and can work well with others team members in the kitchen, and are big on harmonious work. We wish to employ people that are self-directed and passionate about their work.
Primary Job Duties
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, or work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
- Assist chefs on the line during busy periods.
- Clean Kitchen area during and after daily use.
- Check the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers and by hand.
- Polish dishes and glassware.
- Organize clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
- Sweep and mop floors in kitchen.
- Assist chefs and cooks during down time.
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
- Sort and remove recycling and trash, placing it in designated areas.
Qualifications:
- Must be experienced working in a professional kitchen
- Must be experienced in Jamaican cooking cuisine
- Must be a good communicator clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-work environment
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills in all situations
