Job Overview
The Crisis Center Volunteer Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing volunteer staffing within our organization. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, a team player and passionate about making a difference.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance, support and supervision to volunteer phone counselors
- Facilitates initial and ongoing training of volunteer counselors incorporating best practices and recommendations from 988/National Suicide & Crisis Prevention Lifeline
- Overall responsibility of the counselor schedule; keeps track of volunteer counselors shifts and stays on top of their attendance
- Assists with evening training 2 nights a week during training cycles
- Mentors 2 Counselors-in-training during each training cycle (2 cycles per year)
- Reviews and updates Counselor manual regularly to ensure information is accurate and up to date
- Assist with monitoring and providing quality assurance for hotline calls to ensure quality standards are achieved
- Assists Program Director with social media outreach efforts as well as volunteer recruitment and retention
- Recommend and develop appropriate volunteer appreciation efforts
Skills/Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and can shift attention under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy
- Technologically proficient; ability to navigate digital platforms
- Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
- Ability to remain non-judgmental and provide non-directive, empathetic counseling to callers across a wide variety of topics and needs
- Ability to provide open and honest feedback in a nurturing and professional manner
Education and Experience:
· Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field required. MSW or LMHC a plus
· Crisis Intervention or other Counseling experience required
· Training experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
