Position Summary
LGBT Network is a not-for-profit, youth and family services agency that provides education, support and advocacy services to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and their families. We are seeking a full-time Assistant Controller to work with and assist the agency’s Chief Financial Officer in our Hauppauge, NY office. This position will be responsible for a range of functions.
Job Description
The Assistant Controller is responsible for various tasks related to financial management and accounting. Duties include:
- Producing financial summary statements through SAGE Intacct accounting Software.
- Audit Preparation for Independent annual audit.
- Audit the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger systems.
- Assist in preparing budget reports to funders.
- Correcting inaccuracies in financial records.
- Supporting Chief Financial Officer.
- Managing journal entries.
- Assisting in budgeting and forecasting.
- Reviewing accounting information for accuracy.
- Assisting in the preparation of the agency’s annual operating budget, year-end outlook, and long-range financial projections.
- Ensure compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.
- Monthly reconciliation with Development Dept. of all income received.
- Creating journal entries for reclassification of revenues and expenses from the various programs.
- Othe duties, as assigned.
