What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Low Country Health Care System?
Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or related field and two years financial experience. MBA or CPA preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Computer knowledge required and typing skills required. Must possess the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently. Must be flexible as to the changing needs of the center. Must have the ability to work as a team player at all times.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist the CFO with implementation of all financial functions of the organization and each department.
- Assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures pertaining to the financial business and accounting practices of the company.
- Assist with all fiscal activities to include budgets, accounting, audits, taxes, and financial reporting to government agencies.
- Assist with functions of the general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants accounting, periodic inventory, and budget preparation.
- Manage monthly close to ensure timely results.
- Works closely with the staff accountant on a daily basis.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reporting as needed.
- Assist with developing and implementing systems and procedures for internal auding for the agency finances and assists with coordinating activities related to external audits.
- Assist in monitoring all fiscal functions to ensure that policies and day to day operations are effective and in compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
- Assist with strategies to increase earned revenue through the delivery of services or products or through improved efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned by the CFO.
