Your Impact
The Area Talent Development Lead is responsible for leading, supporting, and facilitating human resources (HR) talent development processes and projects, ranging from small, single-channel initiatives to large, complex, multi-channel programs. This role oversees the execution of talent planning projects and programs, including calibration scheduling, implementation, status reporting, and capacity forecasting, while proactively managing risks to ensure successful outcomes. Additionally, the role supports HR strategies and cyclical business processes such as talent planning preparation, calibration meetings, store training and development, performance management, workforce planning, assessment centers, and diversity initiatives. By aligning these efforts with business objectives, the role helps ensure critical store and field positions have top talent and strong succession plans.

What You Will Do
  • Address issues and develop comprehensive talent strategies for the field and store level roles in partnership with internal HR Directors, District HR Business Partners (HRBPs), and HR centers of excellence.
  • Provide end-to-end solutions in the Talent Management space and ensure alignment to overall HR strategies.
  • Lead the development, analysis, and management of all touch points of talent management processes, which includes coordinating and overseeing all calibration processes in the field, managing outcomes from the meetings, and building a development plan of required training and key activities.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for HR Directors and District HRBPs, providing overall requirements and necessary actions in talent development.
  • Oversee the management of all Store Manager (SM) and Assistant Store Manager (ASM) onboarding processes in partnership with HR Directors and business leaders. Ensure contingency plans are established and deployed as a propriate, remove obstacles, and anticipate and provide guidance around dependencies affected by ongoing changes.
  • Monitor the overall talent management process and quarterly calibration meetings against plan and make adjustments as needed when issues are identified and require resolution in partnership with HR Directors.
  • Drive the execution of multiple work streams by gaining cross-functional support for plans, obtaining and distributing resources, and setting standards and measuring progress. Identify process gaps as necessary and develop steps to close those gaps.
  • Review and/or prepare status reports on key talent development performance metrics and/or provide data input for report preparation to Divisional HR Director, Regional HR Director, and District HRBPs.
  • Lead Store Manager assessment processes and support the creation of exposure experiences to ensure talent is reviewed and evaluated throughout the region.
  • Act as a resource for key learning processes for new and high-potential leaders, including but not limited to: New Leader Assimilation, Advanced Leadership Program-ASM, SM-Leadership Experience, and ASM-Leadership Experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field and 5 years of general HR experience
  • 3 years of progressive HR experience demonstrating increasing areas of responsibility and/or authority
  • 3 years of experience working in a cross-functional team environment with exempt and non-exempt staff
  • Demonstrated experience developing, adapting, or facilitating training

Preferred Skills/Education
  • Master’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field
  • 7 years of general HR experience with 5 years of progressive HR experience demonstrating increasing areas of responsibility and/or authority
  • 3 years of HR generalist experience across multiple disciplines (e.g., workforce planning; talent acquisition; career development) while interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures, programs, and processes
  • 2 years of experience working in multiple locations
  • Demonstrated experience actively serving as a strategic business partner for other parts of the organization
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI or other relevant professional certifications

Pay Range: $83,500.00 - $139,400.00 annually Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
