The Lowell Regional Transit Authority located in Lowell, MA is Now Hiring a Human Resource Manager for its Fixed Bus Route Service.
The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all employee benefits and weekly payroll for 90 employees.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement and manage core HR processes at the LRTA facility, including payroll, benefits
administration, and compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Oversee daily HR operations, including onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
- Manage employee life cycle processes, from onboarding and performance management to offboarding.
- Foster a positive, inclusive culture aligned with the LRTA mission and values.
- Collaborate with LRTA management on recruitment strategies and assist with timely staffing. Assisting
in the Hiring Process for LRTA Bus Drivers, Mechanics and Dispatchers.
- Champion employee engagement initiatives, communication, and conflict resolution.
- Coordinate and support training programs for skill development and compliance.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on HR activities, potential issues, and recommended
improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification preferred. Bachelor’s degree not required.
- 3-5 years of HR experience.
- Proven experience in HR operations, compliance, and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices, particularly in Massachusetts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
