The International Student Ambassador serves as a key member of the LCC International Programs Office, supporting various functions. The Ambassador's primary responsibility includes international marketing and recruitment, and campus internationalization. The Ambassador will report to the Director of International Programs.

Please Note : This position only for international students currently enrolled at Lower Columbia College.

Schedule : This position is five hours per week during the academic quarter. Working hours will occur during campus business hours (Monday through Friday 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm), and will be scheduled around your student class and co-curricular schedule.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

• Create marketing materials and shareable assets such as flyers, brochures, and media content.

Write blog posts in English, and in native language(s), documenting international student life at LCC.

Collaborate with the Director and peer Ambassador for topic ideas and schedule.

Maintain the office's blog, scheduling posts, and informing the Director of any technical issues.

Share your international student experience in quarterly webinars with the Director.

Co-manage social media content and posting.

Support campus internationalization efforts, including International Education Week.

Engage in student activities, and support peers with cultural adjustment and extracurricular activities.

Contribute to maintaining the office's operations, and perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.

Familiarity with or willingness to learn design tools such as Canva, Adobe, Photoshop, or similar.

Comfortable engaging with peers and talking to members of the LCC campus community.

Preferred Qualifications :

Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and similar platforms.

Proficiency in more than one language.

Previous experience working in an office or administrative environment.

Self-starter with motivation, energy, flexibility, and integrity.

Anticipated Start Date

LCC offers two start dates for new employees - the 1st and 16th or the closest working day.

Paid Sick Leave

Student employees (work study and student help) accrue sick leave at a rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked. A sick leave balance not to exceed 40 hours will be carried over into January each year.

On-site Childcare Center

Theis a state licensed program that offers high quality childcare for children ages 1 month through kindergarten entry to students, staff and faculty. The center is open Monday through Friday 7 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 30 p.m. The program is a participant of the Washington State Early Achievers quality rating and improvement system and rated a level 4-Quality Level of Excellence. Our teachers are trained in the Early Childhood Education field.
