The Office Assistant for International Programs serves as a key member of the LCC International Programs Office, supporting various functions. The Office Assistant’s primary responsibility will vary based on the student’s skill set and needs of the office. The Office Assistant will report to the Director of International Programs.This position is 10-19 hours per week during the academic quarter. Working hours will occur during campus business hours (Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm), and will be scheduled around your student class and co-curricular schedule. Students are hired for a one-quarter probationary period. Based on mutual agreement, this position may be extended through the end of the academic year.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Serve as a first point of contact for the office. Greet guests by phone, email, and in-person. Guests may include prospective, current, or former students, faculty, staff, and community members. Support recruitment and admissions processes. Examples of such tasks may include: ? Create marketing materials and shareable assets such as flyers, brochures, and media content. Write blog posts in English, and in native language(s), documenting international student life at LCC. Conduct the initial processing of international admissions applications, tracking applicant status and communicating with prospective students and applicants. Support office student life events and programming. Examples include: Preparing materials for orientation, helping set up and clean up orientation meals Creating and distributing posters for study abroad information sessions Planning and supporting on-campus student activities, such as scheduling Come With Me series, setting up tables for International Education Week, etc. Manage the student birthday calendar, create and distribute birthday e-cards Manage the glass display case, rotating featured programs, events, flags, etc. Contribute to maintaining the office's operations, and perform other duties as assigned. Supporting the ten day count and Quarterly Status Review process Supporting international student document collection, processing, and digital organization
