Looking for a cross-disciplinary team member, with a background in inorganic solid chemicals as well as their handling, and preparation for shipping. The candidate should have experience/training in the logistics of hazardous materials.
The Shipping Coordinator and Inventory Supervisor is heavily integrated in the order fulfillment process, including overseeing/participating in picking and packaging materials, and preparation of shipments to final delivery to customers. The role entails overseeing order fulfillment schedules, liaising with engineering, sales, and inventory teams to coordinate product shipments, and ensuring adherence to customer specifications. Additionally, the role is responsible for identifying and addressing any issues or deficiencies in our shipping and logistics operations, as well as meticulously preparing shipping documentation and maintaining accurate records of inventory levels.
Responsibilities
Receiving internal orders to pick and pack materials according to SOP
Assisting in product packaging operations, including hazardous chemical handling - The candidate must have some prior experience with handling inorganic solid chemicals.
Reviewing and managing finished goods inventory, picking, and shipping processes
Coordinating shipments using various methods such as regional carriers, express, LTL, LCL, ocean freight, and air freight, including the preparation of shipping documents as per company SOP
Tracking shipments and communicating updates internally
Collaborating with warehouse, purchasing, and sales departments to maintain inventory levels and product integrity
Monitoring and implementing standard operating procedures
Conducting audits on shipping-related stock and replenishing supplies as needed
Preparing shipping documentation such as invoices, packing slips, and certificates of analysis
Utilizing shipping software for generating air waybills and bills of lading
Interacting with insurance companies to handle claims for damaged or nonconforming products
Maintaining records of customer information, shipping addresses, and contact details
Ensuring compliance with hazmat regulations for shipments, including seeking regular training and staying updated with industry news to keep the company informed of current best practices

Qualifications
College degree or 2-3 year of shipping management experience or handling inorganic chemicals
Fluent in English
Excellent technical writing skills and oral communication
Strong customer-oriented approach to work
Strong computer base skills MS office
Ability to learn, understand, and perform standard operating procedures and company policies
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Self-starter oriented personality
Fork Lift (on-site certification is acceptable)
