- Manages departmental budget, including training events, travel expenses, and resource allocation
- Oversees team credentialing and continuous education programs
- Develops and maintains staffing strategies for both full-time and per diem personnel
- Establishes and maintains clinical training standards and protocols
- Evaluates trainer competency and performance through structured assessment programs
- Designs and implements clinical education resources and programs

Certification Requirements
- License in the medical field or training certificate preferred
- 5 years of hands-on experience in vision care, including procedures such as cataract surgery, refractive surgery (e.g., LASIK), glaucoma management, retinal treatments, or optometric procedures.
- Expertise in ocular anatomy, diagnostic techniques, and clinical interventions.
- Experience in patient care for various eye conditions and treatments, ensuring safety, efficacy, and patient satisfaction.
- Previous experience in ophthalmology clinics, optometry practices, or surgical centers is highly preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in clinical education or training, especially in vision-related fields (ophthalmology, optometry, or optical retail).
- Experience in developing, designing, and delivering clinical training programs for both new and experienced vision professionals (e.g., ophthalmic technicians, optometrists, surgical teams).
- Ability to create educational materials (manuals, protocols, presentations) focused on vision care procedures, technologies, and patient management.
- Skilled in adapting training programs to different learner levels, from entry-level technicians to experienced clinicians.
- 1-2 years of experience in leadership roles within clinical education or training settings in the vision industry.
- Proven ability to manage training teams, coordinate sessions, and ensure all members receive consistent and high-quality education.
- Experience in conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, and mentoring trainees to enhance their clinical and professional skills.
- Strong organizational skills to schedule and oversee multiple training sessions while ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards for the vision industry, including FDA regulations for medical devices (e.g., lasers, diagnostic equipment) and patient care standards.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements specific to vision care practices, such as those related to patient safety, HIPAA, and state and federal ophthalmic regulations.
- Ability to design training programs that adhere to best practices and legal requirements while ensuring patient safety and care.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to track training progress, evaluations, and assessments.
- Experience with simulators or virtual reality tools used to teach surgical or diagnostic skills in ophthalmology or vision care.
- Comfort with leveraging digital tools and multimedia resources (e.g., online training platforms, e-learning modules) to enhance the training experience for a diverse clinical team.
