JOB TITLE: Fleet Manager
WORK CLASS : Hourly, Full-Time
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Direct and organize tasks related to the maintenance, operation, repair and service of the company's fleet.
- Supervise and coordinate staff, as well as direct them to perform work effectively.
- Assign and review the work of managed employees
- Motivate and evaluate staff.
- Ensure that all equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Determine when new equipment is needed and oversee the sale/auction of used equipment.
- Manage vehicle service time to make it effective and efficient
- Manage regular service schedules for all equipment.
- Use fleet management software to track data collection and record vehicle performance.
- Analyze data to manage and reduce costs
- Report to management on fleet performance and expenses on a regular basis.
- Create a budget for the fleet department for the upcoming periods and present it to management.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations related to the transportation industry.
- Take preventive measures to ensure the safety of vehicles and drivers.
- Ensure that all necessary and scheduled equipment is ready for use on time.
- Make sure all vehicles are properly registered and carry out inspections regularly.
- Stay updated with industry trends through various workshops and industry insights.
- Control fuel purchases with fuel cards and regulate costs
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in construction or electricity is helpful.
- Must be competent in the use of common hand tools.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor, often in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors and the public.
- Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Be adaptable to new software systems for programming equipment.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND TRAINING:
- You must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- You must maintain a valid medical card.
- Must be insurable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to work at heights greater than 20 feet.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
