Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional team of engineers and engineering technicians, bringing together power electronics, embedded systems, mechanical engineering, and high-volume manufacturing to develop innovative shading products
- Facilitate the design of maintainable, elegant, and lasting solutions to meet a wide variety of requirements and feature sets while leading a team of highly skilled engineering professionals to deliver top-quality products to the end user
- Architect efficient, scalable, and cost-effective systems upon which world-class shading products can easily be built
- Integrate all aspects of design (aesthetics, function, user interface, manufacturability, lifecycle)
- Assure a high standard of quality in your own work and in the work of your team via good design practices, process improvements, world class safety, and smart testing and review practices
- Mentor and coach colleagues to expand the effectiveness of those around you
- Lead by example. Take a hands-on role in helping the team meet its deliverables. Develop team members by actively working beside them to complete their tasks.
- Champion clear, concise communication of technical information backed by deep fundamental understanding of the underlying principles.
- Demonstrate proficiency in helping the team resolve complex, interdependent issues
- Drive rapid iteration and convergence of new designs and solutions to problems.
- Apply your expertise in whatever means necessary to meet the needs of the business
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline - Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field
- Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00
- In-depth knowledge of fundamental mechanical and process engineering principles
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering. Experience with high quality, high mix of consumer products is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in leading high performing engineering teams and project execution
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with various manufacturing processes including injection molding, stamping, forming, extrusion, and machining
- Ability to effectively communicate across departments, disciplines, and facilities
- Skillful at solving problems with enthusiasm, creativity, and resilience
- Ability to work cross functionally with teams across multiple locations.
- Willingness and ability to travel 10% of the time; domestic and international
