Job Overview
A leading fine dining restaurant in Newport, RI is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to lead daily back-of-house operations with precision and professionalism. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a culinarian with a luxury background and a passion for seafood-driven, seasonal cuisine.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all kitchen operations, from prep to service, with a focus on consistency and quality
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on seasonal menu development and R&D
  • Maintain a service-first culture and lead a small, focused culinary team
  • Uphold luxury standards aligned with Michelin, Forbes, Relais & Châteaux, or AAA 5-Diamond service
  • Manage inventory, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety protocols

Qualifications:

  • 4 years as a CDC or Exec Sous in fine dining
  • Experience in Michelin, Forbes, Relais & Châteaux, AAA 5-Diamond, or James Beard kitchens required
  • Strong seafood and coastal New England ingredient knowledge preferred
  • Calm, organized leadership style with strong communication skills
