Position Classification: Full-Time Administration
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Education - Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field from a regionally accredited institution or a recognized professional accrediting organization.
- Experience - Three (3) years progressively responsible human resource management experience preferably at an institution of higher education.
- Skills - Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations concerning employment preferably in higher education; proficiency in the use of personal computers, specifically in the areas of human resource information systems (HRIS); excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Administers the recruitment and employment processes for the College; reviews and screens employment applications/resumes, and provides guidance and assistance in all aspects of the interview and selection process and documentation in compliance with applicable policy and laws; plans and conducts recruitment and outreach activities as appropriate to attract quality candidates for positions within the College; monitor advertising of position vacancies and application and resume processing; reviews and updates all position descriptions for the College; supervise the preparation of employee payroll authorizations and employment contracts; assists in the administration of employee benefits programs including benefits orientation, benefits evaluation, exit interviews and counseling for employees and implementation of changes as required by policy; manages all unemployment compensation documents such as, surveys, inquiries and letters of reasonable assurance; supervises time-keeping and record keeping functions for the College to include overtime payments, and provide information to employees on College policies in regard to vacation, sick and personal leave time; monitors applications for leaves including sabbaticals, disability leaves, leaves for sickness, and retirement; maintains seniority and salary records; monitor and assist in the compliance of all deadline dates in respective collective bargaining agreements; conducts research in conjunction with contract negotiations, as appropriate; assist the in the management of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS); develops and compiles reports from database; establishes, maintains and evaluates personnel recordkeeping systems, and ensures that all relevant departmental records are complete, accurate, and up-to-date; respond to salary surveys and human resources research proposals; oversees and coordinates all Human Resources Office procedures and documentation processes, in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations and College policy; responsible for the quarterly audit of the College's personnel files and produces a report based on the results of the audit; assists and coordinates investigations pertaining to issues of misconduct and policy infractions; coordinates performance management program and related documentation; performs training needs analyses, as appropriate and initiates, develops, and/or coordinates the implementation of specific training and development programs; oversees, allocates and coordinates work, and trains support staff employees engaged in related activities; performs other related duties as assigned.
Entry Salary: $56,957.51/annualStandard Work Week: 35 Hours
