What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler/CNC Operator position at Lyndon Furniture?
Lyndon Furniture has been a producer of fine hardwood furniture for over 40 years in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We are looking for motivated and reliable person to join our Concord team! CNC or woodworking/assembly experience is preferred but not required.
Some responsibilities could include:
- Creating numerical control program to control contour-path machining of wooden panels on automatic machine tools
- Analyzing orders, drawings, sketches, and design data of pieces to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates according to knowledge of machine capabilities and piece specifications
- Comparing completed workpiece to order and spec sheet to assure accuracy of machine instructions
- Sorting shop orders into groups to maximize materials utilization and minimize machine setup time
- Setting up or operating machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, or shapers, to cut, mold, or shape wood stock or wood substitute
- Establishing the specifications of articles to be constructed or repaired and planning the methods of operations for shaping or assembling parts, based on blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or oral and written instructions
- Measuring, shaping, adjusting, trimming, and sanding parts and joints to make parts fit snugly, using tape measure, handtools, and sander to prepare articles for finishing
- Applying glue and inserting dowels, biscuits or screws to fasten subassemblies together and form complete units, using handtools and clamps
- Matching materials for color, grain, or texture, giving attention to knots or other features of the wood
- Conveying necessary wood stock and materials from storage area to workstation and machines
