We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and professional Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing, dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the orthodontist during procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment as a team player. A strong background in orthodontic procedures, previous experience as a treatment coordinator, and familiarity with Cloud 9 software is strongly preferred.
Duties
- Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in the system.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment schedules and assist with patient flow in the office.
- Utilize dental software such as Dentrix and Epic for record keeping and scheduling.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology relevant to orthodontics.
- Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar dental role is preferred.
- Reliability and responsibility are key qualities.
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and safety measures is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
