What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Maintenance Laborer (Hourly) - Seasonal position at Madison, City of (WI)?
The City of Madison is hiring Golf Course Maintenance Laborers! The successful candidates will be responsible for manual labor work maintaining the City of Madison Golf Courses. Employees will provide basic landscaping services and building maintenance activities for the Madison Golf Courses. Employees will be expected to work with fertilizers and will have frequent exposure to pollen, dust, grass clippings, etc.
Schedule: Multiple positions are available. Hours will be Sunday through Saturday 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Employees must be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. Hired candidates may be eligible for reinstatement in future golf seasons.
Duration: The golf season is approximately April through October (depending on weather).

The hourly wage consists of a base wage of $18.03 per hour plus a $2.50 per hour bonus.

- Mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs using a variety of mowers (e.g., push mowers, large rotary mowers, reel mowers, etc.)
- Rake sand traps
- Change cups
- Maintain trees, shrubs, and flowers
- Perform string trimming
- Clean restrooms and buildings
- Collect trash
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment (check oil and coolant levels, etc.)
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
