Military Behavioral Health Specialist

Job Description
Magellan Health, Inc. is seeking a skilled Military Adult Therapist to provide counseling services to military service members and their families at Ft McCoy. The ideal candidate will have experience in mental health counseling, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short-term counseling directly to eligible service members and their families at assigned locations.
• Deliver training and health and wellness presentations, participate in health fairs, and other base/installation activities as requested or directed.
• Enter counselor activity data daily through a smartphone or web application to ensure accurate reporting from assigned installations while maintaining client/service member confidentiality.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with community resources and military populations, developing trusting relationships with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Respond to critical incidents, surge, and on-demand events, and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) program manager.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited Graduate Program in a Mental Health-related field.
• Valid unrestricted independent counseling license from a State, District of Columbia, US Territory, or Commonwealth that grants authority to provide counseling services as an independent practitioner.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Demonstrate intermediate-level competencies in technology and software.
• Pass a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) Clearance, Installation Records Check (IRC), Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprints Check.
