Role Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will assist the Human Resources Supervisor with all aspects of Human Resources administration; including: employee relations matters; document control/training, policy & procedure administration, new hires, immigration administration, communication strategies, etc. The Human Resources Generalist champions and supports the HR training programs and policies of the division as well as legislative requirements and ensures that all HR processes are followed and applied properly.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer all Division training programs and serve as a resource on programs, courses, and locations for training resources
- Prepare and conduct training to front line leaders on conflict management, policy administration, development, and coaching of employees
- Advises and assists managers and supervisors on interpretation and administration of policies and procedures.
- Assist in scheduling divisional training; maintain training database; issue course completion documents as applicable.
- Assist with Safety manager on safety specific required plant training
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the Human Resources/business field; and or equivalent HR experience in a manufacturing plant a plus
- Minimum 5-8 years in a Human Resources Generalist/Administrative capacity
- Knowledge of Human Rights, Employment Law, OSHA, Workers Compensation, etc.
- Proven organizational skills and the ability to meet targets, goals, timelines, etc.
- Demonstrates skills to consistently achieve commitment and consensus with all stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point), AEP, E-Time and Ceridian DayForce
Additional Information
- Maintain employee personnel files in line with company policies and government regulations; retain records in line with company record retention requirements. In addition, maintain all training hourly and salaried documentation.
- Ensure Magna’s Human Resources systems and policies are consistently applied based on principles of Magna’s Employee’s Charter, and compliant with Federal, State and local regulations
- Assist in administration of division drug testing program and maintain statistics
- Participate in organizing Company social events; contests; programs (incentive and rewards programs); posts and promotes Magna Perks
- Assist in Total Compensation program
- Provide back up to Human Resources Supervisor
