This part-time Youth Development Professional role focuses on creating an environment that facilitates youth success within specific program areas such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education. The successful candidate will prepare youth for success by promoting participation, providing guidance, and implementing programs that stimulate development.
Job Description:
Youth Development Professional
Location: Princeton
Type: Part-Time
Hourly Rate: $15/hour
Main Responsibilities:
- Create an environment that promotes youth development outcomes.
- Register new members, participate in their club orientation, and provide guidance and role modeling.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Demonstrate leadership to ensure safety and development of members.
- Implement and administer programs, services, and activities for drop-in members and visitors.
- Maintain a safe and quality environment at all times.
Supervision:
- Participate in weekly branch staff meetings to maintain a productive work environment.
- Oversee proper record keeping and reporting, including daily participation figures and notable achievements.
Additional Responsibilities:
- May participate in special programs and events.
- May be required to drive the Club van.
Relationships:
- Maintains close contact with Club staff, members, and supervisor to receive/provide information and discuss issues.
- Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents, and others to assist in resolving problems.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Valid State Drivers License.
