Hi! We're Magpies Gourmet Pizza!
We're looking for a shift supervisor at our North location (6342 N Oracle Rd, Suite B403, Tucson, AZ, 85704). IMPORTANT! This is a very small store with a very small staff, we have 5 full-time employees and 2 part-time drivers. We're pretty tight knit (don't worry, we're all nice!) and that means everyone does a little bit of everything to keep us running smooth.
This position will start with a probationary period, during which you will be a cook and be paid minimum wage tips. Assuming everything works out (and when you are ready) you will be promoted to supervisor, which means you will either open or close the store on longer shifts (7-10 hours depending on need and your availability). The position will start as part-time help, mostly on weekends, more hours may be available based on how well you do. Due to the small staff, we are able to give raises based on merit, all in-store employees that work here currently make more than minimum wage.
Experience is HIGHLY preferred, but we are always willing to work with someone who has a good work ethic! Additionally, a reliable vehicle and valid car insurance are also HIGHLY preferred but not entirely necessary. Taking extra deliveries when we get too many for our part-time drivers is a good way to make some extra money!
Duties
- Opening and/or Closing the store (never both though don't worry!)
- Counting cash, taking cash and credit card payments, making deposits, etc
- Answering phones and helping customers at the counter
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and training new employees.
- Assisting with all prep work including making dough, sauce, grinding cheese, chopping vegetables, etc
- Helping with dishes, all general cleaning, sweeping & mopping, wiping down surfaces, etc
- Making good pizzas, making them quickly, and especially on the weekends making them under some pressure (we tend to get a little busy!)
- Be a cool person
Skills
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience as an assistant manager or in a similar supervisory role is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with diverse clientele.
- Ability to sell products effectively while promoting store initiatives.
- Competent in cash handling procedures to ensure financial accuracy.
