Description


We are seeking a Sous Chef to oversee kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. This individual should possess leadership, creativity, and management skills, while maintaining a strong focus on the kitchen's efficiency, cleanliness, and overall performance.
 

Your leadership skills, creativity, and ability to work under pressure will be essential in helping the kitchen run smoothly during service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Kitchen Operations & Management:

    • Supervise and support kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
    • Assist the Executive Chef with menu planning, food preparation, and daily kitchen operations.
    • Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control in accordance with the restaurant's standards.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead by example, maintaining a high standard of professionalism, organization, and cleanliness.
    • Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow.
    • Ensure that the kitchen runs efficiently during both prep and service hours, maintaining a positive and collaborative environment.
  • Food Quality & Presentation:

    • Oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.
    • Assist in developing new menu items and seasonal specials, keeping in line with the restaurant's concept.
    • Ensure dishes are consistently delivered with excellent presentation and taste.
  • Inventory & Ordering:

    • Assist with managing inventory and ordering kitchen supplies, ensuring stock levels are appropriate for the needs of the restaurant.
    • Help minimize waste by properly storing and rotating ingredients and supplies.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation:

    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment by adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
    • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Coordination & Communication:

    • Work closely with the Executive Chef, front-of-house team, and other staff members to ensure seamless service and communication.
    • Assist in scheduling kitchen staff to ensure optimal coverage during shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Line Cook, or in a similar role in a high-end, fast-paced kitchen environment.
    • Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications:

    • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) is required or must be obtained within the first few months of employment.
