Job Description:
The Campus Safety Officer II is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment on the Maine Maritime Academy campus. This involves patrolling and monitoring the campus, verifying facilities are properly secured, and responding to emergencies and incidents.
Duties:
- Patrol the campus by foot and vehicle to identify safety hazards and security concerns
- Enforce campus parking rules and issue tickets as necessary
- Investigate incidents and document facts in incident reports
- Respond to building fire alarms and assist with evacuations
- Assist residential life personnel with student-related issues
- Maintain and inspect life safety equipment
- Supervise Campus Safety Office during emergency situations

- Ability to take instruction from supervisors and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to read and interpret safety documents and manuals
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in stressful environments
- Detail-oriented communication skills
- Ability to document facts accurately and effectively
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or three to five years of relevant experience and/or training
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Criminal background clearance
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Physical Demands/Environment:
- Schedules flexibility required, shift work, weekend and overnight hours
- This position requires physical exertion standing, walking, running and climbing up and down stairs
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Frequent hearing and listening skills
