Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The MHMG, AVP of Analytics position reporting to the CMO, MHMG is responsible for developing and executing the data and analytics strategy of the MaineHealth Medical Group (MHMG). Partnering with senior leadership, this role will lead the vision of managing analysis of data as a corporate asset, strategize and execute to gain overall system efficiencies, and continue to expand the current analytics program to reach a more robust and sustainable future state. The AVP of Analytics will be a trusted subject matter expert regarding data. The AVP is the liaison between the MHMG and multiple MaineHealth (MH) matrixed entities charged with analysis and report options for data. This position is expected to collaborate with MH enterprise IT, and contribute towards MH data warehousing, analytic development, capacity and capability, and governance initiatives.
       
      MHMG, AVP of Analytics is a key leadership role within the MHMG and will, in partnership with other responsible parties, oversee the provision of clinical data reporting structures, extracts, various analytic approaches and methodologies, governance initiatives, and support on various data and analytic tools for all local health systems (LHSs) on Epic. This role will ensure that analytics leaders and team members are mentored to grow the employee development and workforce capacity and capability.  This role is expected to continue the current analytics program trajectory of increasing the availability and accessibility of trusted data and data assessment in order to provide timely, accurate, and invaluable insights to care team members.
       
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in an appropriate discipline, preferably in computer science, business management, or related field.
    • License/Certifications: Epic Certified (additional certifications a plus).
    • Experience: 7-10 years managing technical resources and 3-5 years of management experience. Oversight of business intelligence and software developers, graphics design teams, and data analysts preferred. 7 years working with healthcare related data and large data structures preferred.
    • Experience in predictive analytics and a background in bringing emerging technical trends to the forefront of operations.
    • Public speaking or experience in software training.
    • Background in and SDLC (software development life cycle) and SQL expertise and technical process development and implementation preferred.
    • Extensive experience in requirements gathering, data mining, design, testing, validation, implementation, and support of enterprise data structures.
    • Proficiency and experience using and/or building various software applications and business intelligence tools and platforms.
    • Proven leader and system thinker with an extensive history of building out high performing technical and/or analytic teams and providing analytic solutions, preferably within healthcare.
    • Requires a positive, outgoing, and confident professional who has excellent communication skills and is both comfortable and experienced in working alongside varying role levels within the organization, including the C-Suite.
    • Effectively communicates complex analytic concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical savvy.
    • Effects positive change throughout the organization and establishes meaningful working relationships throughout the organization.
    • In-depth knowledge of emerging analytic concepts and trends both within and outside of healthcare.
    • In-depth knowledge of healthcare data and complex technical systems and processes.
    • Ability to travel throughout various locations in the organization.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
