Job Overview
MRI is a company of 25 years that is a leader as a supplier to the Multi Family Industry for cabinetry, countertops, interior millwork and interior renovations. Along with being the one stop shop to the multi housing industry MRI fabricates custom kitchens, offices and clinics to many other customers.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced working Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cabinet construction from start to finish with experience in various areas such as framed and frameless cabinetry, 5 piece door construction and even plastic laminate. This role requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to read shop drawings, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of shop personnel to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
- Work closely with Project Coordinators to assure and offer suggestions that the best methods of construction are being met to assure the highest of quality as well as the most efficient methods are being provided to our customers.
- Train and mentor team members on proper use of hand tools and equipment, as well as best practices in construction techniques.
- Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain an organized work environment by managing inventory, tools, and materials effectively.
- Collaborate with management to develop schedules, budgets, and project timelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience within the field of cabinetry and its related areas.
- Proficiency in various cabinetry skills including face frame and frameless construction, door fabrication along with experience with plastic laminate.
- Strong understanding of workflow and ability to interpret drawings.
- Excellent leadership abilities with strong communication skills to effectively oversee a diverse team.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to a cabinet shop.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods while performing physical tasks.
