Position Summary:
The Canvasser is responsible for direct voter outreach to drive Democrat voter-turnout. The Canvasser is responsible for consistent communication with Campaign Manager regarding any need for new materials, change in schedule, and notable conversations in the field. The Canvasser is responsible for communicating with voters, educating them about Democrat causes, and collecting signatures.
Responsibilities Include:
● Travels to assigned locations in NYC
● Reviews, memorizes, and personalizes scripts and guidelines
● Builds a connection with constituents and answers all questions about the candidate
● Fosters active discussions
● Maintains professional appearance and conduct
● Maintain accurate and complete data within app
● Hits signature quotas
Requirements:
● Previous canvassing experience is valued although not required
● Exemplary communication skills
● Excellent interpersonal skills
● Able to walk for extended hours
● Able to maintain a high level of energy and positive attitude
● Must be able to commit to a consistent schedule
● Ability to work with leaders, staff, and members at all levels of organizations
