Be Their Voice & Defend Their Future - Join Maldonado Legal

At Maldonado Legal, we are more than just a law firm—we are a passionate, fast-growing team dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate complex immigration matters with compassion, professionalism, and integrity. We specialize in providing high-quality legal services to Spanish-speaking clients, ensuring they receive the guidance and representation they deserve during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Why This Role is Different

This is not a typical administrative role—it's an opportunity to actively listen, provide reassurance, and play a key role in shaping a client’s legal case. As a Bilingual Declaration Coordinator, you will conduct in-depth interviews with clients to gather essential details that will form the foundation of their immigration case. Your ability to build trust, document personal narratives with clarity, and ensure accuracy will directly impact the success of each case.

This position is ideal for psychology majors, law school students, social workers, or individuals with experience in interviewing, casework, or legal documentation who want hands-on experience in a legal setting. If you’re looking for a role where your work truly makes a difference, this is it.

What You’ll Do

  • Be a source of reassurance – Engage with Spanish-speaking clients after they have retained our firm, ensuring they feel supported, comfortable, and understood as they share their experiences.
  • Conduct in-depth client interviews – Ask the right questions to gather essential details, clarify key aspects of their case, and collect necessary documentation that will shape their legal strategy.
  • Transform client stories into strong legal narratives – Transcribe and translate interviews from Spanish to English with precision, ensuring each personal declaration is clear, compelling, and aligned with legal strategy.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency – Review all case details thoroughly to eliminate inconsistencies or missing information, preserving the integrity of each client’s file.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff – Work closely with the legal team to refine client declarations and ensure all information is properly documented to support the strongest possible case.
  • Guide clients through the process – Clearly explain the information needed and why it is crucial, helping clients understand that their personal declaration forms the foundation of their legal case.
  • Maintain organized case records – Upload and manage client interviews, supporting documents, and declarations in our digital system, ensuring seamless access for the legal team.
  • Support daily operations – Assist with administrative tasks such as answering calls, scheduling appointments, and managing case files to help keep the firm running efficiently.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish & English – Comfortable conducting interviews in Spanish and accurately transcribing client narratives in English.
  • Empathetic and patient – Many of our clients face stressful and emotional challenges, and your ability to listen, provide reassurance, and build trust is invaluable.
  • Exceptional communicator – You know how to actively listen, ask the right questions, and explain complex legal concepts in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – You can structure client narratives effectively, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all documentation.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented – You excel at managing multiple cases, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and maintaining meticulous records.
  • Self-motivated and proactive – You take ownership of your work, manage responsibilities independently, and anticipate the needs of both clients and the legal team.
  • Tech-savvy – Comfortable using case management software, email, and office tools to streamline documentation and ensure efficiency.
  • Background in psychology, social work, or law preferred – Your ability to connect with clients in difficult situations and handle sensitive conversations is a valuable asset. Ideal for those with experience in interviewing, case management, or trauma-informed communication.
  • Strong professionalism and confidentiality – You understand the importance of confidentiality and approach all client interactions with integrity and discretion.
