What are the responsibilities and job description for the Affordable Housing Specialist - Fully Remote position at Maloney Properties?
Location: 100% remote – our central office is in Wellesley and can be used if needed. A computer, dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, and docking station will be provided.
Starting Pay: $30 - $33 – Opportunity to earn overtime of approximately $2,000 - $5,000 per year
Performance Bonus Potential: $7,000 - $18,000
Affordable Housing Programs: 40B (suburbs) and BPDA (Boston)
Department Staff: There are 14 staff members in the Brokerage Division.

Property Assignments:
Staff will be assigned to oversee multiple properties, which will include managing the recertifications, vacancies, or lottery lease-ups.
Services:
Recertifications
1. Contact residents 4 months prior to their lease expiration regarding the income recertification process
2. Conduct repeated follow-up attempts (if necessary) to ensure paperwork is collected and processed
4. Review the paperwork submitted and create an income calculation sheet
5. Inform the property staff of yearly rent increases
6. Submit the yearly compliance reports

- Oversee and maintain the property waitlist
Applicant Processing
1. Set up property tours for eligible applicants and collect their credit application and ID
2. Collect income eligibility paperwork directly from the applicants
3. Send out applicant rejections for over/under income and failure to submit documentation
4. Conduct applicant appeals (except for credit denials)
5. For applicants with housing vouchers, oversee the approval process for the voucher
6. Follow up with applicants to ensure they sign the lease on time
