Deputy Project Director / Technical Director - INTEGRATE
Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is seeking a Deputy Project Director / Technical Director (DPD / TD) for the anticipated global Integrating HIV Services into Primary Health Care (INTEGRATE) program, funded by USAID. The program's goal is to contribute to sustaining the gains in the HIV response and enabling pandemic preparedness and resilience in the face of other external threats by integrating current health investments for HIV prevention, care, and treatment services into existing country health systems and PHC platforms, in alignment with country priorities.
This position is subject to project award and funding.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES :
The DPD / TD is a key leadership position that is responsible for providing strategic direction and technical oversight for the project, ensuring the advancement of person-centered integrated care, sustainability planning, and excellent program performance. The DPD / TD is a member of the management team and, with the Project Director and other senior leaders, represents the program to USAID, representatives from collaborating country governments, partners, and other stakeholders.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide technical direction and oversee development of technical strategies and approaches to sustain and accelerate HIV gains, strengthen pandemic preparedness and resilience, and advance integrated primary health care.
- Ensure efficient and effective planning and implementation of evidence-based and locally-driven technical activities, with robust measures for monitoring performance.
- Ensure that the program identifies and addresses the needs and interests of the donor and country counterparts and that the solutions reflect the strategies and design of the program.
- Serve as a thought partner to country teams and partners in the development and execution of project activities, ensuring cross-geography exchange, learning, adaptation, and advancement of promising and proven solutions.
- Institute a performance improvement culture and processes necessary for ongoing improvement of the effectiveness and efficiency of technical approaches and the overall technical soundness of implementation and learning.
- Ensure that program activities are aligned with national and international standards and PEPFAR and USAID requirements and compliant with SOPs and MSH policies.
- Build strong working relationships and proactively coordinate with country governments, USAID Washington and Missions, local implementing partners, private sector partners, community partners, and other key stakeholders to optimize resources and ensure complementarity of efforts.
- Serve on the senior management team and mentor staff across the INTEGRATE portfolio.
- Represent the program to USAID missions, donors, partners, and other stakeholders at the global, regional, and country levels.
