Job Description: Utilities GIS Dashboard for Advanced Metering
- Program Dates: The 2024 internship program will begin on May 19th, 2025, and end on August 8th, 2025.
- Internship Hours: Up to 27 hours/week (maximum), Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; may vary by department.
- Pay Range: $14 per hour up to $20 per hour (graduate/ master’s student), based on the number of credit hours earned.
Utilities Department is entering into a multi-year project to replace its 150,000 analog meters to smart meter technology. The department will require a GIS dashboard to track the replacement of these meters. This position will work with outside contractors and county staff to help design and build this tracking dashboard in ArcGIS Online. We are seeking a motivated individual who can see the creative opportunity to excel. Skilled in ArcGIS Online / Arcade who can help build this dashboard.
Department Responsibilities:
- Provide all hardware and software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online Account, Domo Account, etc.) required to complete project.
- Provide guidance and mentorship needed to complete project.
- Access to various internal applications such as the Meter management, and Customer Information Management applications
- Weekly feedback on progress
Internship Program Responsibilities:
- A presentation to the County Administrator and other County Leadership staff is required at the close of the internship program.
- Participate in all organized intern events and trainings.
- Participate in meetings with internal and external customers to gather reporting requirements.

About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent (if applicable)
- Eligible to work in the United States – we love local, national, and international students!
- Currently seeking a diploma or degree through an accredited secondary or post-secondary educational program, or within 12 months after graduation.
