Overview:
The Campus Director is responsible for the overall management, safety, and success of the childcare campus. This role involves overseeing staff, addressing parent and employee concerns, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring the campus operates efficiently and effectively. The Campus Director will work closely with other directors to meet organizational goals and ensure a positive environment for children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Campus Management:
- Serve as the primary leader of the campus, maintaining a thorough understanding of all activities and events.
- Ensure the campus remains clean, safe, and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Oversee environmental service staff to ensure cleanliness of all areas, including bathrooms and common spaces.
- Maintain playgrounds and fields, ensuring they are safe and well-kept.
- Staff Oversight:
- Address and resolve issues involving staff, including handling performance concerns and administering write-ups as needed.
- Ensure the campus is always in compliance with staff-to-child ratio requirements.
- Conduct regular meetings with staff to maintain clear communication and accountability.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Employee Development to provide staff training and development opportunities.
- Coordinate with the administrative assistant to ensure that all relevant data is reported to the Campus Director in a timely manner.
- Parent and Family Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents to address concerns, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
- Communicate updates and campus news effectively to families.
- Compliance and Records Management:
- Work with the Director of Operations and Contracts to ensure compliance with Department of Children and Families (DCF) guidelines.
- Ensure all children’s and staff’s records are current and meet regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Meet weekly with the Executive Director to discuss campus performance, challenges, and progress toward goals.
- Set and achieve goals for campus improvement and growth.
- Work collaboratively with other directors to maintain consistency and quality across locations.
- Safety and Emergency Preparedness:
- Ensure the safety of all children and staff by adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Maintain emergency preparedness plans and oversee regular drills.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience, preferably in childcare or education settings.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of DCF regulations and childcare compliance standards.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced education in early childhood education or management is a plus.
