POSITION SUMMARY
New Plant Startup! Now hiring for the Production Manager position. The Production Manager champions the production and quality teams in a collaborative and innovative work environment. The manager ensures that production schedules are met, quality standards are upheld, operational costs are controlled, and a safe work environment is maintained. This role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, process improvement, and team management to achieve production goals. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production, material loss, and quality goals are met.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, including lean manufacturing practices, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies.
- Identify inefficiencies in the production process and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Develop staffing and training strategies to meet the needs of the team, ensuring optimal performance and skill development.
- Promote a safe work environment and lead by example to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Manage QA lab technicians and assist with internal quality issues or questions.
- Verify Certificates of Analysis for raw materials and finished goods.
- Monitor quality objectives monthly and perform corrective actions when necessary if goals are not met.
- Perform management representative duties during internal/external ISO 9001/14001 audits.
- Assist UL/CSA Field Engineer with annual sample collections and onsite audits.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Experience implementing and optimizing new equipment and technologies.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
