Position Summary:
MannKind Corporation is seeking a Senior Manager for Sales Training. This pivotal role is instrumental in the development and delivery of innovative, results-driven sales and sales leadership training programs. Responsibilities include providing strategic direction, developing curriculum, managing vendors, and facilitating training sessions. The role involves close collaboration with internal cross-functional teams, sales leadership, marketing, market access, medical, hub services, and vendor partners to identify and address training needs. This includes conducting needs assessments, implementing a range of programs from basic to advanced skill levels, assessing Territory Business Manager competencies, and continuously improving training materials and processes. Must be available to be present in Danbury, CT for team or cross-functional meetings as required.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Design and Develop Training Content: Create and facilitate learning materials, including workshops, backgrounders, FAQs, field memos, annotated guides, and assessments to support business unit and brand strategies. Proactively provide ideas and insights to develop and implement training resources that enhance field team performance. Strong project management skills are essential. Training asset development and execution will align with the annual Training Strategy.
- New Hire Training: Lead, develop, educate and evaluate new Territory Business Managers (TBMs), focusing on elevating product knowledge and clinical selling skills. Coordinate preparation and organizational efforts with Certified Field Trainer (CFT) team for new hire programs.
- Facilitation: Conduct learning/training sessions (both live and virtual) for new and experienced team members, assessing individual results and overall training effectiveness.
- Vendor/Partner Management: Oversee relationships with vendors and partner in the development of product and skill curriculum.
- Compliance: Adhere to all Company, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines, ensuring compliance with MannKind policies and procedures. Submit training content through Veeva/PRC review for approval, track changes, and adhere to guidelines for compliant materials.
- Additional Duties: Perform other assignments as necessary to support Commercial goals.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Required: A minimum of 11 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years with a Master’s degree or Masters in Business Administration
- Required: Training experience (internal and external) is required in a pharmaceutical or biotech organization
- Required: Strong Project design/development, project management skills; ability to multi-task/handle many projects simultaneously
- Required: Excellent presentation skills a must
- Required: Prior experience within a Sales function in a Pharmaceutical or Biotech Organization
- Diabetes Therapeutic experience preferred
- Proactive leadership, planning, organizing, detail-orientation and execution skills
- Knowledge and experience with training platforms and software
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, communication (oral and written), facilitation, and administrative management skills
- Innovative, creative qualities
- Ability to effectively communicate issues and ideas with peers and with management
- Ability to organize and lead meetings with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships throughout the organization
- Must be able and willing to work diligently in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment with changing timelines and priorities

- Travel will be required (25%-30%) for all live training events held at the home office in Danbury CT, off-site locations (POA, NSM, field rides, conferences, sales team meetings). Field contacts will be conducted based on RBM/regional needs for skill development of TBMs, to assess real-world market conditions, and/or identify challenges and opportunities. Must be available to be present in Danbury, CT for team or cross-functional meetings as required.
