WHAT YOU’LL DO
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will sell to and service our current customer base, in addition to maintaining and expanding sales to existing accounts. In addition to servicing your current customer base, you will work consistently to open new accounts and prospect for new customers. Not only do you love working with our customers, but you also enjoy working closely with various company departments to facilitate good customer service and maximize company profits.
THE NITTY GRITTY
Provide clear, concise, and accurate written information to generate quotes and orders on a timely and complete basis; plans submitted through Inside Sales.
Seeks to create a “Business Partnership” relationship with accounts by recommending product, productivity, and service efficiencies to increase sales growth with customers.
Provide the Credit Department with complete account info to open all new and/or related accounts: accurately and completely fill out form(s).
Ongoing credit involvement, in conjunction with credit department - maintenance of delinquent accounts.
Notate comments on the AR Report and turn them in on time. Provide updates on past-due accounts.
Provide field reports on situations as they may affect credit worthiness of the customer. Make account collection a routine part of sales calls.
Visit all jobsites before first delivery and mandatory site visits during progress of construction: provide Shipping Department with
Put up Lot Signs whenever possible, either personally or direct to be erected.
Provide the Shipping Department with accurate site conditions/directions sheets, before first delivery and monitor the timely scheduling of all deliveries to their accounts.
Review Detailed Order Reports daily.
Will communicate when to set up orders to Inside Coordinator for jobs.
Review all open quotes on a regular basis.
Verify proper dates of customer plans that take-offs are being done for. Provide complete and accurate information on Job Data Sheets.
Participate in associations important to the lumber industry and maintain relationships with your accounts.
WHAT YOU NEED

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines (well, not really fax machines). While visiting jobsites you will be surrounded by heavy equipment and machinery.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is largely a sedentary role; however, daily active movement is required. You are frequently required to walk to and from various facilities and construction sites. This role also requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with schedule flexibility.
