Job Overview
Join our team in Portage, WI! We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Manager to support the daily operations of our manufacturing facility. This full-time role (Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm) encompasses a variety of important HR responsibilities.
Under the direction of the HR Director, the HR Manager will perform duties at the professional level in some or all the following functional areas: recruitment, employee relations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws concerning employment and safety.
The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing the worker’s compensation, along with employee leaves and setting the tone for keeping the workforce engaged and producing at a high level.
Responsibilities
- Work with leaders and employees to actively handle and resolve behavioral and performance related issues proactively, minimizing any potential risks.
- Support the day-to-day HR related activities to include absenteeism management and employee relations, working in conjunction with the HR Director, Payroll Manager and Operations Leadership team.
- Have an ongoing presence on the manufacturing floor to build rapport and trust with leaders and employees.
- Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals and initiatives are aligned with business initiatives.
- Investigate employee issues, conflicts, and complaints to help bring the matters to completion.
- Ensure job descriptions are up to date (reviewed every 12 months or less) and updated.
- General HR Administration within Paycom, with a focus on T&A, and Paycom timeclocks.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve day-to-day issues in a manufacturing environment and confidently address complex employee relations challenges.
- Identify urgent needs and intuitively identify the next steps to achieve quick resolution.
- Quickly pivot, multi-task and prioritize in an evolving, face-paced environment.
- Preserve and handle confidential information with a high level of sensitivity.
- Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently.
- Consistently adhere to all safety and quality standards required on the production floor (hairnet, beard net, ear and eye protection).
- May be required to work evening and weekend hours as needed <5%
- SQF/ISO requirements compliance
Preferred Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR, or relevant field desired.
- Strong communication, computer, and analytical skills are preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of direct or similar professional experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, and HRIS experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to speak Spanish and/or Portuguese highly desired but not required.
- HR Certification a plus SHRM-CP, PHR, or SHRM-SCP, SHPR.
