Summary of Basic Functions:
The scope of this role includes supporting the CPC VP of Finance in headquarters management, which includes Commercial Real Estate, Treasury/Banking, Insurance, Taxes, Registrations and other corporate administration as needed. This position collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that business needs and deliverables are met in a timely manner.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Commercial Real Estate
- Conduct financial analysis on real estate performance; prepare month end and year end close analysis; validate results, review P&L and balance sheet, and prepare executive narrative
- Collaborate with Accounting and Business to ensure accurate financial statements
- Manage Real Estate financial activity; monitor receivables and payables, approve POs, track invoices, track POs/expenses against approved Capital projects. Communicate and escalate deviations in a timely manner
- Oversee Real Estate partners; manage contracts, evaluate vendors
- Support Real Estate business partners in the creation of Capital Requests; providing financial analysis as needed
- Lead ERP transition of Real Estate, including vendors, financial accounts, set-up, etc.
- Understand drivers and recommend future opportunities. Develop and report key Real Estate metrics. Provide ad hoc financial analysis as required
- Lead Annual Operating Plan budget assumptions, performance tracking, and forecasting
Treasury Banking
- Approve payments in banking portal, ensuring compliance with procedures and obtaining necessary approvals
- Maintain a Cashflow forecast, providing insights to executive management on past cash performance and anticipate future cash needs
- Monitor banking performance, such as banking fees and team workflows, identifying and making recommendations for improvements
- Play active role in ERP transition to ensure optimal ways of working, utilization of tools, and general process improvement
- Support other banking projects as required
Insurance
- Maintain insurance schedules; reconcile invoices/ prepaids/ accruals, budget assumptions, executive summaries
- Prepare Annual Operating Plan Budget and Forecast assumptions
- Prepare month end and year end close analysis; validate results, review P&L and balance sheet, and prepare executive narrative
- Prepare and submit insurance applications and supporting documentation to brokers, ensuring deadlines are met; collaborate with key stakeholders to gather necessary information
- Prepare audit schedules; partner with auditors as necessary
- Perform other insurance administration tasks as required
Taxes
- Prepare schedules, documents, filings to meet tax requirements and deadlines
- Partner with outside service providers and/or internal business partners to prepare filings
- Process tax payments through state websites
- Contact government departments (phone/email) as needed to rectify issues or gather information
- Lead Annual Operating Plan budget and forecast assumptions, and performance tracking
- Perform other tax administration duties as required
Registrations and Other Corporate Administration
- Support corporate administrations activities as required, including filing annual reports, certifications, and registrations
- Monitor the accounting email account to ensure timely receipt and processing of notices
- Develop documentation and organize documents/filings to simplify access and understanding of key business information
- Performs other duties as assigned; demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in support of departmental and organizational goals
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred
- Proven ability in active task management to execute assigned tasks without reminder
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent project management skills to track and meet deadlines of simultaneous priorities
