What are the responsibilities and job description for the Funeral Assistant position at March Funeral Homes?
Funeral Assistant Responsibilities :
- Drive Limousine / Hearse Work under general supervision on duties & tasks of substantial variety & complexity.
- Work weekends, some evenings and / or some holidays.
- Punctuality & promptness are mandatory.
- Assist Funeral Directors & Pall Bearers as needed Arranges flowers in hearse Assist passengers entering / leaving limousine / building.
- Respond to death calls for physical removal of deceased.
- Provide professional & excellent courteous customer service
- Ability to lift at least 100 pounds
- May be required to work overtime, evenings, holidays & weekends
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and / or training; or combination of education and experience General Computer knowledge
- Must be able to pass drug screening
- Must undergo a complete background investigation Valid State Driver’s license
- Must provide a recent copy of driving record
- MANDATORY COMPLETION OF BASIC TRAINING : Acceptance of this position will require that the individual spend 90 days at on-the-job training, which he / she must successfully complete in accordance to the standards and policies of that specified company / department; or may result, for grounds for mandatory removal from this position. Such failure will result in either assignment to a different position, demotion, or separation from the corporation by appropriate procedures.
