Our growing manufacturing client has an immediate need for an HR Generalist. This is a direct-hire position in their Danville, Virginia location.
As an HR Generalist, your duties will include all aspects of personnel; from recruiting, onboarding, trainings, employee communications, and terminations. You will work closely with the HR department at the corporate headquarters location and be responsible for other office duties at the Danville, VA location; including insurance reconciliation, PO’s, shipping logs, receivers, and invoicing.
Responsibilities:
• Assist HR Director with all aspects of training, record-keeping and policies and procedures.
• Assist in the onboarding process (drug screens, physicals)
• Conduct phone screens and interviews, work with department heads on personnel needs.
• Maintain all insurance changes, additions, subtractions and reconcile monthly billings.
• Assist HR Director with Company Training initiatives.
• Assist HR Director with resolving employee issues and employee needs
• Maintain Personnel training matrix and records.
• Work closely with department heads on updating job descriptions, training requirements, succession planning.
• Work closely with HR Admin Asst. to run Anniversary Award Program.
• Responsible for executing bereavement and retirement processes; including planning and executing gifts, flowers, gatherings, etc…
• Conduct exit interviews and prepare final termination paperwork for departing staff members.
• Maintain all New hire orientation and termination lists, with assistance from HR Admin Asst.
• Plan in-house and off-site activities
• Work with HR Admin Asst on all Danville travel needs and bookings
• Deposits, balances petty cash and local account
• Travel to Post office daily
• PO Receipts / Shipping
• Medical insurance
• Manage Filing systems and office supplies
• Manage Company uniforms and billings, including first aid supplies
• Safety Shoes and Safety Glasses
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in human resources or similar field is preferred.
5-10 years’ experience in human resources.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with employees, management, and HR colleagues.
Strong attention to detail
Experience navigating interpersonal relationships between team members.
Strong Problem solving skills
Experience in compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
