Job Summary
Project Superintendent (Must have 5 years experience working for a General Contractor & 5 years DSA/School experience
Main Goal
The Project Superintendent is to assure customer satisfaction, provide direct oversight to field operations on specific projects and assist the Project Manager in administration and management of the project as outlined in the job description set forth for the Project Manager. Duties include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities, Authorities, and Key Result Areas
Provide leadership on Safety, Quality, Time, and Cost as it relates directly to the project field operations. Effectively communicate and collaborate with the project team for all plans and adaptations that are required to maintain project requirements.
- Assure that the Mark Wilson Construction Safety Program and OSHA rules and regulations are strictly enforced on a daily basis, including conducting weekly safety meetings for onsite MWC personnel.
- Acquire specific knowledge of plans and specifications. Monitor quality of performance and initiate positive action to maintain quality compliance on the project.
- Report immediately any major safety issues, unusual events or crisis to the Project Manager.
- Assist Project Manager in developing long-range operating plans to maintain project schedule.
- Monitor Schedule on a weekly basis. Report any potential delays to the project team and collaborate with the team for potential solutions and coordinate corrective action with the Project Manager. Track production of subcontractors and Mark Wilson Construction trades to assure compliance with schedule.
- Evaluate effectiveness of each operation for quality and productivity. Monitor all production rates. Monitor and follow through on adequate staffing and productivity of all trades.
- Develop and implement look-ahead schedules on a weekly basis with input from the project team. Provide project wide accountability for the lookahead schedule.
- Responsible for confirming documentation is in place and a meeting of the minds has been achieved prior to proceeding with any change work.
- Track and document all Time and Material work on the project. Provide documentation to the project administrator on a daily basis.
- Provide and collaborate on budget vs cost projection to the Project Manager.
- Conduct all meetings including but not limited to: Pre-Installation Meetings, weekly subcontractor meetings, and Contractor Coordination Meetings. Participate in owner meetings.
- Receipt, handling, and placement of all materials required to fulfill the Company's direct work order of the contract.
- Communicate with the Project Manager to ensure a continuous flow of current information.
- Collaborate and provide support during preconstruction activities for site logistics, schedule, temporary facilities, review of bids and contracts, lead times, and budgets.
- Responsible for verifying all contracts, insurance and bonds are in place prior to starting work. (From logs provided by office)
- Provide and implement all project documentation related to safety, daily reports, schedule, deficiencies, inspections, and costs changes.
- Provide priorities for RFI’s, Submittals and Costs to the project team.
- Request and document lead times.
- Review and comment on all RFI’s, submittals and costs.
- Supervise foremen in their development of short-range operational plans.
- Supervise and track direct labor on the project. Coordinate with the Vice President of Operations for logistics and manpower to be hired.
- Receive and process all timecards and coding in a timely manner.
- Facilitate, monitor, and complete all punchlist items per company practice.
- Prepare administrative items for and attend project huddle meetings with the project team and administrative meetings for the company.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President
- Document, maintain and update project as-built drawings.
- Plan, coordinate, schedule and/or facilitate inspections & special inspections as required.
- Review all billing drafts and gain inspector approval.
Reports to:
Project Manager and Vice President of Operations
Physical Requirements:
Climbing, lifting and bending to accomplish superintendent duties.
Walk project in all conditions to review work and provide supervision of the project site.
Capable of off-loading materials.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
