Our Company Overview
At Chicago Marriott Northwest, we are looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual with experience in creating and managing luxury catering events to join our team as Catering Sales Manager. The Catering Sales Manager is a key position that will be responsible for selling revenue generating catered events to include, but not limited to weddings, social, meetings & conference events with all relevant profit driving components. In addition, the position will detail, service, and plan for the success of these events with collaboration of key departments to achieve maximum profitability and guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will be creative, a problem solver, has a proven record of being a team player, is open to learning and leading by example, responds in a professional and courteous manner to guests and team.
Catering Sales Coordinator :
Under general supervision, the Catering Sales Coordinator is responsible for assisting customers with their pre-event food and beverage service arrangements. This includes providing required information to customers, assisting the customer with their menu selections, confirming details related to the event and entering this information into the computer for use by other food service employees.
Catering Sales Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their catering needs.
- Create and present catering proposals to clients, including menu selections and pricing.
- Coordinate logistics of events, including setup, service, and breakdown.
- Work closely with the culinary team to ensure menu items meet client expectations.
- Manage bookings and contracts, ensuring all details are accurately documented.
- Assist in marketing efforts to promote catering services through various channels.
- Resolve any issues or concerns that arise during events in a professional manner.
- Welcoming guests and clients.
- Effectively communicate with all guests and staff in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.
- Organize and coordinate an event timeline, ensuring that the service runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Coordinate and oversee decor set-up and breakdown.
- Processing and receiving food orders on time.
- Maintaining an inventory of food and office supplies.
- Liaising with vendors and external suppliers.
- Oversee catering and kitchen staff.
- Managing staff schedules.
- Assisting management with food and decor budget, and managing finances.
- Maintain high personal grooming standards and professional demeanor.
Catering Sales Coordinator Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and catering management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- High school diploma.
- A bachelor's or associate's degree in hospitality, culinary arts, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in the food service or hospitality industry required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial and/or business management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
