Description
The Marshall Farm’s animal care program is enhanced through flexibility in job function. Many employees are cross trained in different functional areas. The degree of cross-training for a given person in various functional areas may be partial or complete, depending on the needs of the business, and may therefore be documented on an individual skill basis.
This position is Mon - Fri with rotating weekends.
Pay grade is N3 $18.27 - $27.41/Hour
Duties Include:
- Perform technical duties that relate to breeding, birthing, animal health and shipping. Some examples of these are vaccinating, tattooing, treating, neonatal care acclimating animals for order requirements and minor procedures.
- Move and regroup animals as directed by the coordinator in an accurate and expeditious manner.
- Socialize animals to help them become accustomed to procedures that would normally be performed in a research laboratory environment.
- Use proper animal handling techniques while noting and reporting animal morbidity issues.
- Other duties as specified by management
- Make observations regarding animal health and communicate what they observe to their coordinator.
- This position will require some barrier work, along with working with cats and mongrels as needed.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
This position may require the individual to have certain vaccines such as Flu or Covid.
Competency Requirements:
Individual is capable of effectively and consistently performing essential tasks and operating all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

Individual will contribute to a productive and professional environment by setting a positive example and demonstrating enthusiasm, diligence, and ethical behavior and by taking responsibility for ones’ actions and challenging oneself to continually improve.
