Position Summary

Perform research activities and other tasks as necessary in a biomedical research laboratory environment.

Job Description

• Perform laboratory research procedures under the direction of the Principal Investigator
• Maintain cell culture and organoid culture in accordance with laboratory and safety protocols
• Culture bacteria for treatment of cells and organoids as per Biosafety protocols
• Work with experimental animal models in terms of animal maintenance, treatments and generation of experimental data
• Perform molecular and cell biology techniques such as Western Blotting, Real Time-Quantitative PCR, gene cloning, immunofluorescence, luciferase assay, ELISA
• Keep a laboratory notebook and perform thorough and accurate recordkeeping of all experimental data
• Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including ordering supplies, preparing buffers and reagents and general lab organization
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the Principal Investigator
• Comply with all safety, environmental and health regulations and procedures
  
  

Location MURC - Marshall University Research Corporation Salary Range Salary is commensurate with experience and internal equity

Required Qualifications

Education

• Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences
  
  

Experience

• Previous experience with cell culture, animal handling and basic biochemistry and molecular biology techniques is preferred
• Good organizational and communication skills
