Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Summary:

Martin Chevrolet-GMC is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for processing invoices, reconciling statements, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor accounts. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced automotive dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and code invoices accurately and efficiently for payment.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Verify and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies.
• Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
• Maintain vendor records and ensure W-9 compliance for 1099 reporting.
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
• Assist in month-end closing procedures by ensuring all invoices are accounted for.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
• Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in an auto dealership or similar industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with dealership management software (e.g., Auto/Mate) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills for vendor and internal team interactions.
